Autoplay__How do I make Autoplay retain the application that I select? Save does not work.

I have 2 digital cameras by Canon, one requires the use of the EOS utility to download photos and the other uses Canon Camera Window.  I can set the autoplay for each to use the appropriate application and hit the save button, but once I reboot the one
that was set to use the Canon Camera Window application changes to the EOS utility which will not work for this camera.

Camera 1 is a Rebel Ti using EOS utility.
Camera 2 is SD870IS using the Canon Camera Window software.

Method 1:
Steps to enable auto run feature on Windows 7
Follow the following steps to enable auto run feature on Windows 7:
1.      Click on
Start menu on Windows 7 and click on Control Panel
2.      The
Control Panel window will be opened.
From the "Control Panel" windows, click on
Hardware and Sound option.
3.      Sometimes you will not see Hardware and Sound option.
To see click on the View By drop-down menu and select
Category option.
4.      The "Hardware and Sound" window will be opened.
From that window click on
Auto Play.
5.      From the
AutoPlay window, you will find an option Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.
Just click on it and the auto run feature will be enabled.
6.      At last, click on
Save button to save your settings.
Method 2:
1.      Type
gpedit.msc in the Start Search box and then press ENTER to open the Group Policy Editor.
2.      Under
Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand
Windows Components and click Autoplay Policies.
3.      In the
RHS Details pane, double-click Turn off Autoplay to open the
Properties box.

4.      Click
Enabled and then select All drives in the Turn off Autoplay on box to disable Autorun on all drives.
5.      Restart.

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

• Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
• Click on Boot Tab
• Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
• Select Network.
• Click Apply and OK.
• Reboot your System.
