every time i try to download Java for window xp i keep getting a window installer error saying "This installation package could not be opened.
Verify that the packae exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is
a valid Windows installer package".how do i fix that ??

From where are you trying to download Java? Try download from
http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp , save to disk and then install it.

In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
Click Save.
The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
